"Understanding ourselves often begins with understanding our relationships, experiences, and the environments that have shaped us. I believe in creating a compassionate, culturally sensitive space where individuals and families feel heard, supported, and empowered to navigate life's challenges."

About This Therapist

Yousra Benchekroun is a mental health counsellor with graduate training in Marriage and Family Therapy and an international background in community mental health, family support, and intercultural care.

Her approach recognizes that emotional well-being is closely connected to our relationships, personal experiences, and cultural identities. She offers a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where individuals, couples, and families can explore their concerns, strengthen communication, and develop practical strategies for navigating emotional and relational challenges.

Yousra has experience supporting adolescents, young adults, caregivers, couples, and families facing relationship difficulties, emotional regulation challenges, parenting concerns, and significant life transitions.

Her professional perspective is informed by systemic and attachment-based frameworks, trauma-informed principles, and culturally responsive practices. She places particular importance on understanding each person's unique circumstances, strengths, and support systems.

Having worked with refugee and immigrant communities in different international settings, Yousra brings a deep appreciation for the complexities of cultural identity, belonging, migration, and adaptation.

She understands that personal and family challenges may be influenced by cultural expectations, intergenerational experiences, and the demands of navigating different social environments.

Through a collaborative and strengths-based approach, Yousra supports clients in identifying their needs, improving communication, strengthening relationships, and building resources to manage everyday challenges.
